Unfinished...

...are any of us really finished? My alter ego unfinishedperson examines this very question on his blog in a linear fashion: body, mind and soul. Here, however, no such constraints exist for me, with the only rule to keep ramblin', ramblin', ramblin'.

Ruh-Roh, a rhee-hee-hee edition of NPR's Morning Edition

Aaron Schroeder, who wrote the above song (along with Wally Gold), passed away yesterday at the age of 83. Schroeder also wrote other number one Presley hits "Stuck on You," "Good Luck Charm," "A Big Hunk O'Love" and "I Got Stung." He also composed the theme song for Scooby-Doo.

In other news, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in an interview in Brussels, Belgium about NATO allies sending about 6,000 to 7,000 troops so far:

We heard from this morning off the top of my head the Italians, the Poles, the Slovaks -- I mean, ha ha, we had a, ha ha, um, uh, very good, uh, uh, time listening to what was coming forth...

I think it might be telling that she laughed after naming all those countries, especially the Slovaks. I pick on the Slovaks in particular, because I think the Wops and the Polacks have been picked on enough over the last century. I mean, how many of you have actually heard how many Slovaks does it take to screw in a light bulb jokes? I don't think so.

Personally, I think we need to call in The Great Dane:

After all, if we can count on him, we know he'll catch the villain. Maybe he can get into those caves and route him out.

Heh. I love how this post combines Elvis, Hillary, Slovaks, and Scooby-Doo.

I never watched Scooby-Doo. So I never get all the references people throw around. And wasn't the whole "Ruh-Roh" thing started by Astro on The Jetsons?

All right, I'm done carping.

Nice bit of trivia. And I love the Hunk of Burnin' Love song. Loved Elvis' music, too, even though a lot of it was campy.

Nice linkage! Love the overall theme: Now or Never. It's gonna be never for Canada because we're withdrawing. Never should have been there to begin with. But, hey, that's not a discussion between humour bloggers..

...and thanks for adding S&A to your blogroll...cool!

To be honest, I usually don't enter the world of politics, because it can be so heated. However, once in a while, I do it...and this one, for some reason, I couldn't pass up. I just thought Clinton's laughter, at what might be viewed by some, at inappropriate times was too good to pass up.

Um, thank you. I think. :)

If there's anything that this blog is about, it's trivia. I loved that song too...and Elvis, despite what Living Colour thinks, rocked. (And I love Living Colour too. I know, wrong, but I like Neil Young AND Lynyrd Skynyrd too. I know. CRAZY.)

After penning Hunk a burnin love and Scooby doo I am sorry he should have died. I am like that. I hated that song Hunk Of Burning Crap. How you doing sugar?

So really, tell us how you really feel about that song. ;)

JD's smarter than me, I missed the wrong ruh-roh, there. And I too love Elvis while simultaneously avoid politics for the most part. You say one contentious thing and all the political extremists want to get all up in your comments section with their views. I'm too conflict avoidant for that.

Want to leave a long, rambling diatribe on the state of world affairs? Have at it...somewhere else. I'm the unfinished rambler here. But feel free to leave your aphorisms, especially encomiums, panegyrics to the author. Feel free to consult a thesaurus like I did.
