Quickies on a Tuesday
America runs on Dunkin': I heard this on the radio this morning, and thought, "Really?" No wonder America has an obesity problem.
Now serving burgers at 9:30 a.m.: I saw this on the sign at a local Burger King this past weekend. I don't know about you, but I don't really get cravings for burgers that early. Sure, I get cravings for whiskey that early, but burgers?!? I don't think so.
So to review, this:
Yes!
But this:

NO!!!
I'm not cut out for retail: I was officially notified by a friend of mine via e-mail that I am not cut out for retail. I worked for her and her husband at their bookstore last winter, and, to say it was awful would be an understatement.
What was about retail that did me in?
[Continued in another half hour later that afternoon because first half hour didn't cut it after checking e-mail, etc.]
- Me
- Me
- Me
Yep. It wasn't the customers. It wasn't the bosses (although that one boss was a bear in the mornings AND the afternoons). It wasn't my fellow employees (one other at the time). It was me. I kept getting in my way. I learned that I'm not a multitasker. It's not that the cash register, the credit card machine and "tending to" the customer were that difficult; you put them altogether, though, and I was screwed.
Well, my time's about up for this second time around. I don't feel like coming back to the library for a third time. Hopefully, by tomorrow, my computer will be fixed. If not, I'll see you here in short installments within the next few days.

I wondered where you were. At the library to do your posts. I'd hate that. I hope you computer gets home soon.
As for retail, I'm so with you. Not for me either.
Have a terrific day. :)

Lord, that Library computer will never be the same. I bet it doesn't know what just happened...

I agree (not about the booze since it would cause havoc in my delicate stomach) the thought of burgers before 3pm makes me nauseous.
My friends used to stop at White Castle after a night of clubbing and it would be 3am and I'd feel like throwing them out of my car so they could take the horrible smell with them.

Hey, I didn't think library computers would allow you to write about "quickies." Don't they have filters on them for people like you?
Oh, and I have to admit that I've had burgers at 9 in the morning before. If you get up at 5 then 9 is really like noon to most people. It's all a matter of perspective!

I love me "handmade" whiskey. And the design of the bottle neck looks like it would be good for something else as well.

Hmmm. That burger looks pretty damn good. I could probably force myself to eat one as early as 9:30AM. After all, I've had sushi for breakfast.
I'd eat a burger at 9:30 a.m. Not with all the stuff on it, but of course I don't eat Ketchup, as you've mentioned before, so mine would be just a burger with pickles. Just saying.
Saying, YOU ARE WRONG! Whoot!
Half an hour at a time? What are they afraid you're going to research building a bomb so they only give you a short time. We have all the time we want at our local library. . . sheesh. You guys are so backwards out there! :-)

I know the Rambler can't comment until he gets his computer back, but I'll leave what I'm sure he would say: "WTF?!"

Want to leave a long, rambling diatribe on the state of world affairs? Have at it...somewhere else. I'm the unfinished rambler here. But feel free to leave your aphorisms, especially encomiums, panegyrics to the author. Feel free to consult a thesaurus like I did.
